eNom Servers are having issues today May 2, 2009
If your DNS servers are hosted at eNom you may be experiencing problems with viewing and accessing sites and servers at Carolinanet. We are Carolinanet also use eNom's DNS Servers and are reporting issues with a number of their servers. You will know your domain name is using eNom if the DNS servers are listed as:
dns1.name-services.com
dns2.name-services.com
dns3.name-services.com
dns4.name-services.com
dns5.name-services.com
This page shows the status of Enom's DNS servers. http://www.hyperspin.com/publicreport/9910/52664
If your domain uses Enom's hosted DNS service, then the following DNS servers must be UP in order for your domain to resolve correctly. If ANY of the DNS servers is DOWN, people will start having problem resolving your domain and our service will complain about "unknown host" errors intermittently. ALL DNS servers MUST be UP in order for your domain to work properly.
We do not have an expected resolution time from eNom at this time.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting Technical Support. I'll be happy to assist you.
eNom DNS servers were victim to a large Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. This attack affected hosted customers and other services, which rely on our DNS infrastructure. Our DNS regularly handles attack traffic during the normal course of business; however, this attack was particularly large and required additional effort by eNom Operations to counteract it. By policy, eNom doesn’t detail the nature of attacks against our infrastructure.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
